We are super excited about this very special release and the journey this whisky made before being bottled.
We love collaborating with other businesses and this release was only made possible thanks to the great people at Last Rites taking part.
A 100L bourbon cask, aged for just under 5 years was decanted and placed in an ex-muscat barrel (from our previous release!), this continued the aging process while our bourbon barrel took a trip to Last Rites distillery in Cambridge.
Last Rites took the bourbon barrel and aged a “hard” ginger beer. After 3 months their ginger beer was ready and the cask returned to us at Old Kempton Distillery.
Then the fun part! Our whisky was returned to the bourbon/ginger beer cask for 3 weeks to pick up the ginger beer characters, before being decanted at 58%, producing exactly 100 bottles.
About Ginger Beer Cask
Nose: a soft nose of delicate and delicious gingerbread or ginger sponge cake
Taste: The sweet palate is quickly overwhelmed with strong spice.
Finish: leaves a palate of tantalising glazed ginger and turkish delight. This amazing whisky leaves you hungering for more as the finish is now all about rich creamy malt satisfying and warm.

Enter the Draw
Each quarter, you are automatically entered into the ballot to receive an exclusive Old Kempton Whisky Club Members only release. You will be given the opportunity to opt out prior to the ballot day, if it is a whisky that you’re not interested in. If it’s a whisky that takes your fancy, you can also select to ‘double-up’ and purchase two bottles if you are successful in the ballot.
The first Member to double-up receives bottles 1 and 100 of the release. Ballot winners will be randomly chosen once entries close.

Enjoy your Old Kempton Whisky Club exclusive whisky!
If your name is drawn in the Ballot, your bottle is secured, and payment will be taken at that time. Your bottle will be sent straight out for you to enjoy.
If you are unsuccessful in winning a bottle, there is nothing to pay or do – except anticipate the next exclusive release.
