About Whisky Club #16
Our whisky’s journey -
The first part of this whisky’s journey was in 100L Australian Tawny casks from South Australia. These casks have helped develop a decadent base of sweet dried fruits to complement the malt of the spirit.
We then finished these casks in a beautiful old Muscat puncheon (500L) that we are lucky enough to have purchased from the magnificent South Australian winery, Yalumba.
With more than 170 years of winemaking experience, Yalumba prides itself on an emphasis for crafting bespoke barrels from the ground up. They are the only winery in the southern hemisphere to have an operational, on-site winery cooperage. They select the oak which, Head Cooper, Kym Venning, carefully crafts into casks, providing the unique flavour, complexity and aroma to their wines.
Using one of their beautiful casks, the Muscat-finish has developed a livelier spice and dried floral element to the whisky which pairs with the Tawny influence to produce a bold and complex whisky with plenty of vibrant spice.
About Muscat Cask
Aroma: Rich and bold with deeply integrated sweetness. Lots of dried flowers, dark chocolate and orange peel. Dried apricots, malt biscuit and rose petals develop with some warmth and time in the glass.
Taste: Creamy mouthfeel and lively palate with a good sense of alcohol. Rich and malty with plenty of dried apricot, spice and sweetness.
Finish: The alcohol carries the sweet spices to a long finish with good malt, black currant cordial, dark chocolate and plenty of oak.

Enter the Draw
Each quarter, you are automatically entered into the ballot to receive an exclusive Old Kempton Whisky Club Members only release. You will be given the opportunity to opt out prior to the ballot day, if it is a whisky that you’re not interested in. If it’s a whisky that takes your fancy, you can also select to ‘double-up’ and purchase two bottles if you are successful in the ballot.
The first Member to double-up receives bottles 1 and 100 of the release. Ballot winners will be randomly chosen once entries close.

If your name is drawn in the Ballot, your bottle is secured, and payment will be taken at that time. Your bottle will be sent straight out for you to enjoy.
If you are unsuccessful in winning a bottle, there is nothing to pay or do – except anticipate the next exclusive release.
